Miss Musique

Are you trying to plan your wedding music but don’t know where to start?  Have you hired a string quartet but don’t know what songs will sound the best?  Then keep reading for some of my recommendations for the best string quartet wedding songs!

A common misconception

about string quartet music is that we can only play classical music.  These days, that has totally changed!  Many couples are looking for modern songs arranged for strings; it has that classic and unique vibe but with a familiar tune that everyone will recognize!

Classic Rock sounds great!

Some of the absolute best string quartet wedding songs are from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.  The classic rock band sound translates so well to strings!  Songs by The Beatles such as “All You Need is Love” and “Eleanor Rigby” sound absolutely beautiful on strings.  Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” will have your guests rocking out!  On the softer side, Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” is so lovely and really features all the textures of string instruments.

Did you grow up in the 90’s?

All of our favorite boy bands sound great on strings!  “Bye, Bye, Bye” by N’Sync is one of the best string quartet wedding songs that will have your guests loving the nostalgia and the novelty of strings at the same time!  Just imagine everyone dancing and singing to “I Want it That Way” by the Backstreet Boys!

For more modern-day songs

I recommend listening for a strong melody.  Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams”, Michael Buble’s “Everything”, and “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri make some of the best string quartet wedding songs.

Things to avoid

I would stay away from rap songs as they rely very much on the spoken word, which does not translate well to strings.

I hope this post has helped you pick the best songs for your wedding!
